WHY STAY AT PAN PACIFIC YANGON

Pan Pacific Yangon has the best location

Pan Pacific Yangon is bang in the middle of the central business district (CBD) on the corner of Bogyoke Aung San Road and Shwedagon Pagoda Road.

It was easy to walk to most of the popular tourist sights in the city’s old town from there and the Bogyoke Aung San Market is just around the corner. Otherwise, you are looking at a short taxi ride to go further afield to Karaweik Palace.

Relax in the stylish and warm rooms

Having arrived late from the airport from our flight, I was having to have a super comfy bed to sink into. We opted for the Deluxe Twin Room which was spacious and the floor-to-ceiling windows gave an epic city view. Apparently, some of the 336 rooms face an office block so you may want to make a special request.

The suite came with a decent-sized wardrobe, soft dressing gown, hairdryer capsule coffee maker and tea-making facilities.

The bathroom was awesome! There was a separate walk-in shower with porcelain stool inside, a separate toilet and a good-sized bathtub to relax in. There is a big window to the bedroom but blinds to maintain your privacy.

Savour the top notch food

This good hearty breakfast Saan Restaurant certainly gave us the fuel for the hectic sight-seeing days. The buffet tables seemed endless and catered to every nationality. Start with pastries and freshly-squeezed juices, then move on to omelettes, waffles, sushi selection, create your own Noodle Soup, Dim Sum, steamed rice with a choice of hot dishes such as Chicken Masala… the list goes on. I have to say, the taste of everything that found its’ way to my plate was sensational.

Unfortunately, I did not get to taste the delights of the cuisine in the evening as we ate in the city at the end of our touristy days. However, the menus looked spectacular in the Hai Tien Lo and Saan Restaurants and both have wonderful skyline views.

We did pop into the Teak Bar for a nightcap and a bite from the snack menu. Why not take advantage of their sunset happy hour to round off the day nicely?

Relaxing pool area

Find your spot on a sun lounger around the infinity pool with the majestic views of the Holy Trinity Anglican Church and Shwedagon Pagoda in the distance. This is a great escape to relax from the hectic yet amazing city of Yangon.

The pool is open from 6am to 8.30pm daily and there is a pool bar to serve snacks and sandwiches so you won’t need to move all day only for a dip in the pool. I have to admit, after tearing round the sights of Bagan and the Chin State on planes, buses and tuk-tuks, this was sheer bliss!

Treat yourself to a top spa treatment

We all love a good pampering! I had an amazing traditional Myanmar massage at the St. Gregory Spa and Wellness Centre to help blood circulation and improve overall well-being. there is a discount offered to hotel guests so make sure you highlight this when paying.

They offer a range of spa services including revitalising facials, rejuvenating massages and other cleansing body treatments. You can forget your worries and relax in the sauna, steam room, jacuzzi and swimming pool.

Get fit with a view

The 24-hour fitness centre has incredible views over the city and the infinity pool. The gym is fully-equipped with a fab selection of cardio, weight and strength equipment to get the heart racing.
