When looking for a place to stay on my two day layover, my two key factors were budget and location, Pergamin Old Town Apartments in Central Krakow ticked both boxes. Having arrived in the snow and wondering whether December was the best time to visit Krakow, being smack bang in the middle of the city was a result!
Drawing up to the Pergamin Old Town Apartments at Św. Gertrudy 10 in a taxi, I was met with the old-style architecture of the townhouses which looked rather grand from the outside. The interior was simple, characteristic and unassuming but kind of homely at the same time.

REVIEW OF PERGAMIN OLD TOWN APARTMENTS
Warm bedroom, simple design
After arriving in Krakow from the sunny climate of Dubai, I was keen to rest up and get warm. I’m pleased to say the room was heated in preparation for my arrival. The bedroom was equipped with a flat-screen TV. A mini-bar and coffee machine, all charge as extra if used. The en-suite bathroom with free toiletries was very clean.
The aparthotel offers 62 rooms, both standard (double, triple and quadruple) and deluxe for families of four, five and six people.
Breakfast rocked!
Totally recommend having the breakfast at Pergamin Old Town Apartments. There was a lovely buffet selection of continental (meats and cheeses), tomato and mozzarella, hot food such as bacon, scrambled egg and more. Let’s not forget the cakes and biscuits, a little naughty in the morning but they went down lovely with the latte!
Little tip… The breakfast, at 30 zloty, is cheaper if you pay direct to the hotel.
Excellent location in Central Krakow
The 3 star hotel runs along the Cracow Plants, the city park surrounding the Old Town. You’re only 450 metres from the majestic Wawel Royal Castle, 600 metres from the Main Market Square and an easy walk to cross the Vistula River to the Kazimierz district. You can do all the important sights on foot from Pergamin Old Town Apartments, it’s a kick-ass location!
The ‘not-so-good’ about Pergamin Old Town Apartments
WiFi wasn’t the best. It kept dropping in and out on my phone and on my laptop, was difficult to get a strong enough signal. If you need to work whilst you are there, this probably isn’t the best place for you.
Would I recommend Pergamin Old Town Apartments
Overall, I was very content with the room at Pergamin Old Town Apartments especially considering how little I paid (210 zloty / £43 for 2 nights which included my booking.com Genius Loyalty discount of 10%). And guess what dog lovers, they’re pet-friendly, you just need to inform them before booking!
If you need a clean and comfortable place to rest your head in the heart of Krakow that doesn’t break the bank, Pergamin Old Town Apartments is a fantastic choice.

I haven’t been in Krakow, Poland yet but I’m so interested to see Pergamin Old Town Apartments. It looks like a great accommodation to stay at. Their breakfast looks so yummy too despite being a 3 star hotel. I think I’ll stay here next year when I visit Poland.
The breakfast certainly set me up for the day and I was super cosy in my warm room especially considering it was freezing cold outside!
I wish I would’ve stayed in the Pergamin Old Town Apartments when I was in Krakow! I especially love the kitchen in this accommodation. It’s not only beautiful but also functional and has a very historic vibe to it. It’s unfortunate that the Wi-Fi isn’t the best because that’s very necessary for travelers and digital nomads to stay connected. This accommodation is also ideal because of its location, as you noted, which is fantastic. I think I’d live with slower Wi-Fi for that great locale!
Yes the location was amazing and by the time I got home after walking the streets of Prague all day, I was pretty exhausted so it forced me to avoid screen time and get a good night sleep!
Krakow looks to be a neat location! Personally, I haven’t been, but I want to do more research now. The Pergamin Apartments look to be a great starting point (I firmly believe that all you need to travel is a place to stay and a means of transportation). With the reasonable price and yummy breakfast, I’d take questionable wifi!
I agree, it needs to be comfortable and good food to set you up for the day. I don’t really spend much time in the place, too busy exploring.
I really wanted to visit Krakow when I was in Poland but was only able to hit Warsaw and Wroclaw due to some programs I was attending there. This hotel looks a lot better than what I got for the same price in Wroclaw (shared bathroom, 6th floor no elevator and no breakfast!) so nice work!
The price of Pergamin Old Town Apartments was super cheap, I couldn’t believe it, especially considering the location!
Krakow is on my wishlist and I’ll definitely keep Pergamin Old Town Apartments in mind when I’ll finally organize the trip! I like the fact that it’s centrally located and that the rooms look simple but cozy. Not to mention that breakfast feast, wow!
It was cosy and, for the price, it’s really a no-brainer to stay at Pergamin Old Town Apartments!
Thank you for your honest review of Pergamin Old Town Apartments. You’re right about the breakfast lol, that looks so good!! It reminds me of the one we had in Warsaw when we visited last winter. Polish breakfasts are pretty good! Shame about the Wifi dropping, but the location sounds great!
The breakfast was never-ending delicious food. The locations is a big win for Pergamin Old Town Apartments, it couldn’t be any better.
I have this beautiful city on my list to visit this summer and your post has come in at the right time where i can get help choosing my accommodation in the city. Even though you mentioned about using it for a lay over I think the two key factors budget and location makes the Pergamin Old Town Apartments in Central Krakow the perfect place to stay for a few days and discover the city. It looks comfy and clean and above all located centrally so a thumbs up from me and one I will look into when visiting Krakow for sure.
Pergamin Old Town Apartments certainly offers a place to stay in a top location at a great price, just what you need for a short trip!
As Pergamin Old Town Apartments in Central Krakow is budget friendly and has a great location, I would also opt for this. I prefer simple room design with neat and clean furnishings. Good to know as breakfast of this hotel is rocking as I love to have a good start of the day with many varieties in breakfast. And the breakfast area with bricked walls too look great.
It covers all angles for me, no point on spending on pure luxury for a city break when you’ll be out most of the time. Clean, simple and comfortable with a great breakkie. i was happy!
